Industrial Automation and Controls

As Information Control increases its presence in the area of material tracking systems, the need for direct interface with industrial control systems and automated warehousing systems has grown. To accommodate this need, Information Control formed the Industrial Automation and Controls group. This addition has given Information Control the ability to collect data for material management directly from automated warehouse equipment and factory floor PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems used for machine control, and put this data in the hands of management personnel and accounting.

With the expansion, Information Control has the capability to provide complete factory automation services, including design and fabrication of control cabinets, programming PLC’s and operator interface systems, start up and testing of new systems, and troubleshooting existing systems.

The industrial controls group is headed by Mr. Michael Bochinski, an Electrical Engineer with a 15 year background in industrial controls and automation. Mr. Bochinski has worked extensively in hydroelectric power generation, waste treatment plants, and manufacturing facilities nationwide. The controls group has programmed and installed systems using most major brands of PLC’s, including Allen Bradley, GE, Modicon, Square D, and Westinghouse, and is an official system integrator for GE Supply Company in Baltimore, MD, and Square D in Towson, MD. Other programming capabilities include custom graphic operator interface systems using C programming, and configuring off-the-shelf man-machine interface packages such WonderWare and GE Cimplicity.
